Why should your company be in the Ministry’s Carbon Footprint Registry?
Public administrations and companies are increasingly showing greater concern and commitment to reducing the carbon footprint generated by greenhouse gases.
Out of this concern, through Royal Decree 163/2024 of March 14, the carbon footprint registry, compensation and carbon dioxide absorption projects are created.
Since 2014, more than 3,000 companies have requested registration in the registry, the main reasons for this have been:

An increasing number of companies and organizations demand the calculation, reduction and compensation of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at the request of their clients, investors or other stakeholders.
Legislative Regulation
More and more Autonomous Communities are regulating the obligation to calculate carbon footprints and reduction plans for companies. We believe that in a short period of time public and private competitions and tenders will be mandatory for SMEs.
Mandatory at the state level
Starting in 2025, all companies and organizations affected by Law 11/2028 in Spain will be required to calculate and report their carbon footprint. This requirement is part of the government’s initiatives to combat climate change.
Define the Scope of the calculations and collect the information
We advise our clients on what areas of the organization and for what period they will need to be included in the collection of information and in the calculations depending on the type of organization.
Calculate and record carbon footprint
Once all the necessary data has been collected, we calculate the carbon footprint of your organization, in addition to preparing the relevant reports to register it with the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge and obtain the seal.
We prepare carbon footprint reduction plans
Once the main activities that cause greenhouse gases are known, we develop a reduction plan that, in addition to reducing CO2 emissions, contributes to reducing the costs associated with energy consumption.
Carbon footprint reduction record
In addition, to prepare the reduction plan, we manage the registration in the registry of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge and obtain the reduction seal.
Management and execution of CO2 absorption projects
We advise our clients in the preparation of CO2 absorption projects. We provide a comprehensive service where we design, budget, record and execute the proposed management plan, in addition to monitoring the absorption of said projects. We manage and look for clients interested in your CO2 bonuses generated.
Carbon footprint offset registration
Organizations may use the absorptions that have been generated in the absorption project to offset their carbon footprint or reach economic agreements with organizations that manage CO2 absorption projects and acquire the CO2 credits generated.
